Stamp-A-Holics & Stamping 411

Image
First I found the Sketch Challenge at Stamping 411 and then the colors at Stamp-A-Holics ...and was I ever challenged. I shuffled, reshuffled, went this way and then that way and just about called it quits, but then really rose to the challenge, put my head down and got to some serious playing...here are the colors that are being called for...can I do this? and the sketch challenge from Stamping 411 ~ love the sketches that are given,  it really helps me with a starting point.  So here's my card...still not sure how I feel about it, but she... is absolutely adorable! What a beautiful stamp set ~ it's a must have in my mind! I grabbed my Tulip Border Punch and added a garden of tulips to the inside of my card! Thanks so much for popping by, hope you had a little taste of spring! Enjoy your day! JUGS Challenge #69 ~ Wild Card

Image
When I saw this challenge over at Just Us Girls  Wild Card Challenge I knew I wanted to enter a  little family Photo Album that I finished awhile ago.   I used my Scallop Flower Punch from SU ~ crumpled my DP from SU which is just fabulous! After I got everything mangled they way I wanted it,  I began to build my flower ~  poked a hole in the centre of it all and adhered it with a brad,  which you can't see as my flower if so full, but it's in there!  I really enjoy creating this little album as well as the flower ~ my front cover was covered with several layers of Modge Podge!  Thanks so much for taking a peek ~ I hope you enjoyed your stay ~  have a wonderful day!

Hoping You Are Doing Snow Good!

Image
Bad typo on my part ~ meant to say "Hoping you are doing so good" ~ so while we are on that subject, I have a bit of a different post for you...I had shared a post last month with a peek at how the frost had kissed all the trees in the backyard. So today, I'd like to share how the snow has blanketed our yard and plays hide & seek with our trees! This picture is looking out of our front door, you can see where I started to shovel the front walkway, the snow is up to my knees, Dean will be snow blowing us out when he get's home this evening! Our cedar rail fence is hiding and the old grain wagon is wanting to join in the game! You can just see the lights on top of our driveway markers, and yes, that is the sidewalk to our front door just in front of the circle drive! I took this picture from our sunroom, so the lighting is quite bad, you are now looking toward the back yard on the south side of our home. There is a old cedar plow just peeking out of the snow! A

PPA78 & CTD126 & FTTC102

Image
I created this card with a layout challenge in mind, went to get things together for my entry and realized that I was 8 hours late! I guess I need to learn to read the fine print ~ our little grandson had a sleep over last night (such fun)...put him down for a nap...and then I realized I was late ~ I then found 3 challenges  that I would qualify for ~ I'm not sure if that is against the rules...but here's a peek! The challenge from PPA78 was to use a ribbon in your creation, from FTTC102 was to use hardware ~ this was perfect as I created a note card, my SU Library Clip was exactly what my card was calling for. The CTD126 was to play with the following colors I had already created my note card, loved creating this, I found this idea while I was looking around and popped in on Becky Roberts (she's amazing, you really should pay her a visit. What a fabulous idea! I can't wait to teach this to my girls  ~ I know they'll be in love with this one! My girls are

Stamping 411 Challenges Times 2

Image
What a fun day of stampin' ~ we went out for dinner with friends to celebrate Dean's Birthday, what a great day! Two times the fun for the day and then Two challenges in one! Stamping 411 Sketch  and then the Color Inspiration , so is this called Double Dipping! So this actually ends up being a little sneak peek for my up coming Birthday Stack Class ~ so Darlene....shhhhh. She is one of my faithful friends and checks up on me often! Love you my friend!   I Shimmer misted each of my Cupcake Toppers and then I added CE to each of the cherries (loving that look....quess I've been using CE a lot lately, can't seem to get away from it)! Here is one of the birthday cards that we will be creating...not sure why I didn't order the stamps to go with my new punch (which I love...you really need this one ladies) ~ Pulled out my Crimper, which I haven't used in quite sometime, but along with the new Cupcake Punch, this is a must and I'm sure it won't be fee

CQC Challenge #68

Image
Well I finally got a chance to play along with another challenge ~ tea with my girlfriend this morning, and then a day of playing in my studio...what a fun day I've had!  So the cQc Challenge #68 was asking for these colors I rose to the challenge and created a little birthday card for our 2 year old grandson ~ Thomas the Train is his absolute favourite, every train he sees becomes his Thomas! I can't seem to capture my pictures well ~ it really does look better IRL ~ and so, here it is.... I used clear EP on Poppy Parade CS for my smoke, cut them out and used dimensionals to adhere them! and then continued with the train theme on the inside of my card. Sure hope our little man loves his card...and of course he'll be opening up some Thomas the Train gifts to add to his collection! Here is our little Birthday Boy holding his baby brother! not the greatest pictures due to the water glasses....but can't you feel the energy ~ he is SO much fun! Thank you so much

Color Throwdown

Image
A couple of my friends came over a few evenings ago and we stamped & created until we were cross eyed! We had so much fun, helping and encouraging each other along the way! I love my friends and spending time with them is the best. The card I created for this challenge was a CASE from my girlfriend Darlene. She is SO incredibly creative ~ oh to create as she does! We were asked to go a step further with the Color Throwdown  this week.  Be sure to read about it and help bless  a fellow Stamping Sister who is very sick.   Katie Renz   lives in Washington state, is a wife and mother of three and was diagnosed just before Christmas with stage 4 gastric cancer. The members of the Throwdown team felt the need to rally around Katie and show her our support. I knew I had to join in and bless Katie. I'm praying for you my dear.  Thanks so much for stopping by today ~ have a wonderful day ~ ~ hug those you love ~ and tell them so ~ Blessings to you ~ Denise ~ Stamps:  Baroque Mot

cQC Challenge & SUO Challenge

Image
When I saw the cQc Challenge #67 , I knew right away what I wanted to do with this ~ my baby card stash is VERY low...and then the following morning I noticed the SUO Challenge was for a Baby Card! Two challenges in one ~ I had so much fun doing this...with a few challenges along the way! I really seem to struggle with colors that are chosen for me...so this is a good thing, gets me out of my box and comfort zone ~ I didn't have any Kiwi Kiss in my studio and then forgot all about Melon Mambo! So I substituted Certainly Celery for the Kiwi and then added the Twine to my buttons which is the closest embellishment that I had to Melon Mambo! Okay, so now I'm exhausted....so here's my Baby Buggy Card I then used Crystal Effects on the Baby Buggy dots & heart (I'm loving CE, just adds texture and 'color pop' to whatever it kisses) ~ so then I came to the interior of the card and when I stamped.....oh....I made a mess, I didn't come down properly and so m

SSC185 & JUGS66

Image
I had a wonderful evening of stamping although it took me awhile to get going! My Mojo is in slow motion I think! Two days for one card ~ yikes! I followed the layout from the Stamping 411  Saturday Sketch Challenge #185 ....well, I sort of followed it !  I then came across the JUGS  challenge this morning and they were calling us to dress up the inside of our envelopes, I've always wanted to do this and so I rose to the challenge!                 So here is my card and the matching envelope ~ I created my card using Basic Black & Whisper White CS and heat embossed the Fifth Avenue rose using White EP. The effect is absolutely stunning! I love the simple elegance of this card, I placed the small pearls in between each scallop along the bottom edge of the card. Each of these panels are adhered using dimensionals, the layered effect is beautiful. After I stamped the large rose on the top corner and punched the Scallop Border of my Whisper White, I adhered it to the insi

Christmas in January?

Image
Good day! After weeks of no play, I found it really difficult to get my mojo on! I think I spent more time wandering than playing! I started with a challenge from Stamping411  #184 My color inspiration came from the The Color Throwdown  #123...put my head down and got to work! So here is the card that I created....a Christmas card in January, this is definitely a first for me, I've never created a Christmas card at the beginning of the year. the little ornaments are the punch outs from the border and then I applied Crystal Effects to them, after I adhered them, I wish I had just left the banner clean...too late....that's on there! I also applied Crystal Effects to each of the ornaments on my DP. I really liked the effect, I'll definitely be keeping that in mind, just really adds a subtle punch to the card. Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope you have a great day today in whatever you do! Stamps:  Love You Much, Teeny Tiny Wishes Paper:  Always Artichok
