The Paper Players  # 71 challenge brought to you by the fabulous Anne Marie was so much fun! If you've never been to Anne Marie's blog....well.....you have to! So I guess I'm suggesting (strongly!!!) that you play along with this challenge and check out the other DT members (I promise, you won't be dissappointed, these girls are amazing!) This is what Anne Marie is calling out for ~ I think I can do this? I saw this one day as I was strolling through blogland and knew I wanted to recreate this altered milk carton. Another one of my many favorite blogs is Elaine's, she is so creative and I love to pop in on her, here is where I found my inspiration, and she also put together a fabulous youtube tutorial! So let's get busy..... as you can see, I can't create a gift box without a matching card  ~ and this one is just a sweet litte 3 x 3...super fun to create ~ In following the recipe, my 3 patterened papers are from the Candy Cane Christmas found in last yea...

Faux Silk ~ have you tried this yet ~ what a fun Technique, I found this on  Splitcoaststampers  and knew I needed to try this out. It's really hard to see the effect on my card, but IRL it's totally different, too bad...but then again, if you want to see the effect, you should try this Technique! So here's a few peeks at what I created. The Faux Silk Technique was done on the Lovely As A Tree portion of the card. I used the Northern Flurry Embossing folder on the inside of my fancy fold card. I then used my dauber and Frost White Shimmer Paint on the center raised portion of the snowflakes! Looks amazing! The sentiment on the card front, snow flakes & inside where embossed with Silver Embossing Powder, the effect is beautiful against the Whisper White CS. The 'grass' areas and tree centers were daubed with my 2 way glue pen and then sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds! Very subtle, but stunning!  ~ I hope I have inspired you to create ~ Thank you so mu...

What a wonderful weekend of celebrating our daughter & her husbands 30th birthday! It started with baseball and then dinner at their home and an evening of 'a minute to win it' ~ What a blast!!! So now I'm looking at my calendar and yikes!!! I've got two weeks before my first Christmas Stack...and I'm not ready,  actually haven't even started, so I guess the next 10 days or so are focused on first creating the cards and then cutting, cutting, cutting ~ so much fun! Here's just a little sneek peek of a card that we just may do...hmmm...maybe We will see how the next few days unfold and then I'll make a decision...either way, I'll be ready to go. If you're in the Winnipeg area, I would love to have you join us, drop me a line and let me know. All guests need to RSVP, this way I know how many kits I'll be putting together. Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!
