Stampin' Chez Moi

Hello friends ~ I want to welcome you here to my little corner of the world ~  and I might add, and VERY cold corner of the world.   We are living in an Ice Cube here in Winnipeg  -29 Celsius ....OUCH, Baby it's COLD outside ~ But, let's get to todays post ~~~ this sweet post from the Paper Players #625 , that I get to create in my Cozy Studio ~ music playing, busting a move or two every now and then...how fun is that!!! Look at this sweet little guy, playing in the rain ~ I can't wait to do that in the spring!! this Design Paper is AMAZING and it was such a treat to play with it!!! Our Little Lucas was being Dedicated today at church! Grand babies are such a blessing from the Lord. The sketch I found at Freshly Made was perfect for my card. And my card also went along with the challenge at Paper Players ...although I wasn't creating an actually Summer Holidays card, this card definetely depicts what we love to do as a family ..... camping and beaching! I really didn't have anything that is actually for a Sunday Dedication Service, but a little boy playing in the sand is totally what my little guys love to do, and I really don't think Lucas will be any different when he gets a little older, so this was actually perfect for my card for him As you can see, I flipped the card sketch and opted for my embossing folder to show the long vertical focal point of the sketch. I'm really pleased with my card...but IRL....it looks So much nicer! Now if we could just get some nice hot June weather that we're all used to ha...

I had so much fun creating this card for Dean's birthday....I know...it doesn't have a hint of masculinity on it....but I still like it...just not too sure what Dean will think...but I do know that he adores me, so if anything, we'll have a good laugh about it. So here is how this all came about ~ I have really neglected my card creating lately, just been having so much fun knitting...here's a peek at some of my projects....and my pictures really didn't turn out so great...these projects really look amazing IRL! This is a ladies cable knit cap and below is a matching (well, the yarn) child's cap A child's Snowborder hat ~ super warm and cozy...I made two of these, one for Austin (1.5 yrs old) and one for Owen (3 months) This cable headband  was inspired by one that can be purchased at  Abercrombie & Fitch! Finding balance is usually difficult me for ~ it means I can't ALWAYS do what I'd love to do but also what is needed. So in trying to find balance in my present world, I've had to make some very hard choices, first being my classes...I love getting together with my friends to create, but needed to cut my class time in half...and the other was the posting on my blog when I'm able to and not a daily thought and hope to get to it event! Both of these decisions effect my studio time and playing along with challenges...so today I feel SO priviledged that I got to play and my card went along with the challenge that I found at PPA113 which was to Heat Emboss. I definetley agree with the DT, heat embossing just gives everything a pop! So here is a picture of my card which was heat embossed using Dazzling Diamonds...haven't played with that for such a long time and I had a blast ~ it was so nice to create...I miss doing this daily, but....well, you know... Why does summer get SO busy...I always seem to be running ~ not getting things done that I would like to ~ running again...okay, sorry, you didn't pop in for this...but I was so thrilled to have some time to create a birthday card for our son Marc! What a busy week I've had and then all of a sudden, I had a found afternoon today ~ so ~ I quickly found the challenges that I was hoping to play with and had myself some fun! I really am hungering for spring and the Paper Players Challenge #37   & PPA84 were just TOO perfect ~ I can almost smell the roses! The subtle colors at the Color Throwdown #132 just screams spring to me...and so away I went!  I knew exactly what I wanted to do, but sometimes what I see in my head isn't quite right and I end up changing everything about what I had originally planned on creating....today was a different story ~ this is pretty much exactly what I dreamed up ~ that is exciting for me and a first! So here's my spring card... I've got Shimmer Mist on the butterflies as well as the flowers ~ but, it's really had to see in the photos I had to place my clear block onto my card in order to hold it down ~ here's a little side shot ~ and the inside of my card ~ I...

Do you ever buy a stamp set that you just HAVE to have, and then never do anything with it! I am famous for that...hmmm...maybe I have too many toys ~ oh, what am I saying, of course I could never have too many toys! Well, I just love this stamp set and it was so much fun playing with it today! And here's another shabby vintage card! I love playing with that style and the colors from the Paper Players challenge #34 were perfect for this set, I knew right away that I would be pulling out 'Have A Seat' from my stamp shelf! My stamps sets are all in alphabetical order on my shelves and then stamped in a catalogue, this way when my friends come over to play, they can easily find what they're looking for!  If these colors don't scream vintage...I don't know what does!  Anything goes at Paper Players. ...are you kidding...I actually had an idea in my head as to what I wanted to do ~ this was just too perfect and also a first for me. I usually need a visual to go by and from there I'm able to create ~ wow! I'm so excited that the visual this time was already steeping....literally! and I've got a certain special someone in mind and some of her favourite things are the colors blue & yellow and a extra hot cup of tea! When I saw the Color Throwdown for this week, I knew it was exactly what I needed color wise! So here is my card that has been created for her with much love & prayer as I played with this!  Hope you like it my dear friend? I colored in each teacup using my Bashful Blue & So Saffron write markers  and then used Crystal Effects on each.  Don't you just love china teacups.. ..a nice hot cup of Earl Grey Tea is the best in a cute little teacup!
