SASC119 ~ So Sorry ~

Image
Our very dear friends father passed away on the weekend and I needed a sympathy card for them. This was so hard to create for our friends, but I do know that they are covered in prayers and finding comfort in God's wonderful presence during this difficult time. I really do need to create several sympathy cards so that they are on hand when they are needed ~ creating a card when it's needed is just too difficult for me.  I followed a sketch that I found on Stampin' Addicts Here is my card that I created ~ I did enjoy playing with my new toys....just really hard when you know who will be receiving it ~ I forgot to take my photo during the sunny portion of the day ~ and so please overlook the terrible shots that I've posted! I'd like to end on a brighter note ~ so here are a few shots that we took on our weekend away with our son's beautiful family! Thanks so much for stopping by today ~ enjoy your day ~ and hug your loved ones....better yet....tell them

RAK From A Darling Friend

Image
Is it possible to have an friend that you've never met. Well my mother in law has a friend in Austrialia that has been her pen pal since she was in grade school. And mom is now 84! So my answer to this question is yes, absolutely ~ and so, I have an on-line pal and one day, I would LOVE to meet her IRL, create cards with her and teach her how to knit something other than a hat.  Have you ever heard the adage, a painters house is never painted, how about a card maker hardly ever hands out cards....well, that one would be me! I don't know why, birthday's & anniversaries, yes, but beyond that...I just don't seem to take the time...but I want that to change starting today. My darling friend has gifted me with so many of her wonderful creations and I know first hand the huge blessing that comes along with receiving a card and knowing that you are being thought of. LeAnne, you bless me, you encourage me and I count you as a dear friend, thank you thank you thank you!!! He

PP#78 & Freshly Made for Dean!

Image
I had so much fun creating this card for Dean's birthday....I know...it doesn't have a hint of masculinity on it....but I still like it...just not too sure what Dean will think...but I do know that he adores me, so if anything, we'll have a good laugh about it. So here is how this all came about ~ I have really neglected my card creating lately, just been having so much fun knitting...here's a peek at some of my projects....and my pictures really didn't turn out so great...these projects really look amazing IRL! This is a ladies cable knit cap and below is a matching (well, the yarn) child's cap A child's Snowborder hat ~ super warm and cozy...I made two of these, one for Austin (1.5 yrs old) and one for Owen (3 months) This cable headband  was inspired by one that can be purchased at  Abercrombie & Fitch! This is so warm and cozy as well!  I hope you enjoyed my other creative obsession!   and so, Dean is out of town, and it's a perfec

Paper Players Theme Challenge

Image
Another challenge!!!! Yipee...I'm back, I feel fully me once again...I've been under the weather for over a month now and by george (whoever he is) ~ I think I'm fully recovered!  When I saw this at the Paper Players , I knew I really wanted to play along...but I wasn't sure how my week would unfold...well, I guess a picture tells a thousand words, cause, here is the challenge and my card! Thanks SO much Lesley, what a great challenge, I love playing along with the Paper Players...so get your mojo on and join in the fun! So here is my little bit of LOVE! and a peek at the inside Here's a another bit of love being showered on Dean ~ Marc had the snow blower out to help Dean with the driveway. We do have a fairly large circle drive in front of our place ~ lots of room for family & friends to park, but this also becomes a large driveway to shovel or snow blow in the winter...so Marc decided to spray a little lovin' on his Dad before he came home for dinn

Never Enough Time!

Image
This is my first visit with my grandsons this year! I was so excited to have lunch with Angela & Andrea today and it was wonderful to see them....but I must say (sorry girls)....my boys were there...... and I've never had a picture with just the boys...and so here it is ~ I am feeling better today, but definitely not 100%, so I'm hoping to still have a quiet weekend and get ready for my first class on Monday night. ~ Now if I'm really lucky I'll get to some creating as well, I'm itching to play with some of my SU product, there they sit in my studio, calling my name ~ tomorrow just might be the day ~ so if there is another post tomorrow or Sunday, you will know that I actually made it to one of my happy places! So alas, no card, just me and my boys...hope you still enjoyed this wee visit...and thanks so much for stopping by! Enjoy your evening and this weekend that is upon us! Blessings! If you live in Winnipeg or the vicinity and would like to host a party

First Class of the Year!

Image
Welcome back, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and I'd like to wish you all the best in the New Year! I will be hosting my first class of the year on Monday the 9th and I sure hope I'm feeling better by then. I have been sick for over a month now and I can't seem to shake it! I spoke at a ladies Bible Study and then taught a simple Christmas card on the 22nd of November, by that evening I had  laryngitis and it's been one thing after another since then...the hardest part is... I'm never under the weather. I just don't seem to catch whatever it is that's going around...guess I can't say that anymore! I did still mange to have some play time (albeit not enough)...so in between sniffles, tissue, naps...yikes!!! are you sick of me yet!!!! Well, I did get a card created and now all I have to do is cut my kits, and tidy my house...well, cut my kits for sure! So here is my card ~  And a quick shot of the inside  I thought I'd also give you the d

Happy New Year!

What a beautiful evening we shared with dear friends yesterday. We've been getting together for New Years Eve for 15 years or so (as well as throughout the year). We are so blessed!!! First we sat down for dinner, then had a rousing game of Canasta...and Judi & I kicked some serious butt last night...it's been awhile since it's been our turn to win, so it was pretty sweet to say the least! We then all decided that we just wanted to sit and visit and Judi & I pulled out our knitting needles...talk about a relaxing evening, it was fabulous!  Judi & I have always exchanged gifts, but decided that we both have everything we need/want and so opted to nix the gift portion of our time....but I still HAD to make a card and what fun I had creating this just before they popped in for the evening. I found two great challenges that I wanted to play along with and got to work...or should I say play!  Friday Mashup challenge 39 was calling for a Shiny New Year....perfect, th
