Tea Light Luminaries for Paper Players

Image
I love embossing...so of course I had to play along with the Paper Players challenge! I made little Tea Light holders (battery operated ones that is). I did use Dasher just on the CS...I actually used an office store CS ~ it's not as heavy as Whisper White and therefore the light shines through it a little more ~ let me know your thoughts! I actually shut the lights off in my photo box to take this one ~ you can see the tea light effect a bit better than with the lights on! These were easy and fun to create! Thanks so much for stopping in for a visit ~ have a wonderful day! Stamps:  Dasher, Bells And Boughs Paper:  Real Red, White (non SU)  Ink:   Versa Mark Acc:  Gold EP, Oval Scallop Punch, Snips, Ribbon, SF Die Cut & Border Punches (non SU) All Supplies Stampin’ Up Unless Noted!

Stamping 411 Challenge

Image
Sketch Challenge #179 from Stamping 411 is absolutely fabulous ~ you should really play along with the designers! I had a blast this afternoon ~ I really needed a break from Christmas Cards, so I rolled up my sleeves, got the music going.....and got to work! I used Dimensionals to pop each of the panels on my card and heat embossed each with a copper EP, it's really difficult to see the effect, but IRL it's quite stunning! On the inside I stamped tone on tone, using Elements of Style and then stamped my Sentiment over it using Close To Cocoa. I received a beautiful card in the mail this week and LeAnne had done this on the inside of my card, wow, what a beautiful effect....so....note to self.....remember this and do it! It's really hard to see in the picture, but the outcome is wonderful! Thank you so much for visiting with me today! Have a blessed day and I hope you drop by again! Stamps:  Elements of Style, Wonderful Words, Occasional Quotes Paper:   Crumb Cak

I Got Mail!

Image
Well I'm still smiling....I received a card in the mail today from a friend that I met through the wonderful world of blogging! It's amazing the connections that you make when you chat every now and then ~ and also when you pray for each other. My friend is LeAnne and I know if we lived closer, we would share stampin', grandbabies and even a Starbucks every now and then! Thanks again LeAnne, oh how you have blessed my day! So here's a peek... drum roll please..................and now the card! I think the picture turned out okay, but IRL ~ amazing ~ so LeAnne, thanks again...and if it's okay, I would love to CASE this! Thanks for stopping by today and may you have a blessed day!

Paper Players Challenge #25

Image
When I saw the sketch from  Paper Players  this week, I knew I wanted to play along, and I knew what I wanted to do ~ so out with my Never Been Used Brayer ~ I decided it was time! I really need to keep working on this Technique. I think it's one of those that take time to master. Michelle Zindorf  is amazing ~ how does she do it ~ so here's my first attempt ~ I'm not really pleased with the brayering (is that a word?) on this card, but ~ once perfected!!!!....I'll keep trying! After I finished the card, I realized that I wasn't as close to the sketch as I thought ~ sorry girls ~ I hope that's okay?..... And now, if you'll allow me ~ I'd love to throw in a picture of our youngest grandson ~ he's three week's old tomorrow and just so sweet and a wonderful new blessing in our family! Thank you so much for stopping by today ~ enjoy your day! Stamps:  Inspired By Nature, Teeny Tiny Wishes Paper: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Cajun Craze

On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, Canadians are asked to pause in memory of the thousands of men and women who sacrificed their lives in military service. In Flanders Fields   By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)   Canadian Army In Flanders Fields the poppies blow   Between the crosses row on row,   That mark our place; and in the sky   The larks, still bravely singing, fly   Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago   We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,   Loved and were loved, and now we lie   In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe:   To you from failing hands we throw   The torch; be yours to hold it high.   If ye break faith with us who die   We shall not sleep, though poppies grow   In Flanders fields.

Has It Really Been a Week!

Between helping out our new mom with her 20 month old, getting meals together for them and us, getting my craft table ready & organized for our ladies breakfast this Saturday and still hosting my card class, it's been a whirl wind to say the least ~ but I've been having a blast! So wonderful to have a wee one in the family once again and to watch his older brother (20 months old), and big 10 year old cousin interact together is a blessing beyond words! We serve an awesome God and so special for me to share this with you all. Thanks so much for your many kinds words of 'Congrats' ~ Thank you ~ So here's a quick picture of just some of what will be sitting on my craft table on Saturday...I didn't want to unpack too much ~ hopefully I'll remember to take a picture once my table is all set up ~ pop by a have a peek on Monday! Another Double Challenge

Image
I would love to post everyday, but just can't quite get this together yet....but when I saw these challenges this week, giddy up and let's go ~ so the color challenge is from Stacey's Stampin Stage and the design challenge is from Stampin 411 ! Take a peek at my creation ~ hope you enjoy your time with me! Here's a little peek of the right hand card top, after I used the blender pens to gently color this in (I love coloring!), I used Crystal Effects to give these hazel nuts some depth, I love how these turned out although it looks quite goofy in this picture ~ not a good likeness ~ stunning IRL! After I heat embossed my leaves with Black EP, I used the Blender Pens to color in the Leaves and all the Hazel Nuts ~ used my Top Note Die twice to create the frame and stamped More Mustard on the smaller of the two (tone on tone)! I really wasn't sure about this card, but in the end I am quite pleased with it ~ what do you think ~ is it too much ~ I just may teach t
