Stampin' Chez Moi

I had the BEST day EVER today ~ my girlfriend came over at 10:15am and the creativity was flowing ~ my girlfriend made two amazing cards (should've taken a picture of us creating)...I love watching her create ~ out with the sketch she's wants to follow ~ a little tweak here and another there and there it is ~ another STUNNER...and yes, should have taken a picture ~ DUH!!!  Thanks for the best day my friend ~ I am blessed beyond words :-) and then I found a sweet sketch to follow, although it wasn't open any longer, but I was on a roll and lovin' the sketch and the card that I was CASing .... thanks for your amazing card LeAnne ... I hope you're okay with me using your card for inspiration ~ your card is absolutely stunning ~ love your creativity so much...so wonderful to see what you share! I needed a birthday card for my brother's 50th birthday and I love playing along with challenges which also gives me a starting point! So a hunting we did go!...and here are the two challenges that worked SO well for me ~ thanks so much for the inspiration and a great place to begin! The first challenge I found was the Friday Mashup ~ and their challenge was any past challenge which was great, so here is where I began! Perfect for a Manly birthday card for my brother!!! Now, can I find a color challenge that I like to go along with the idea that was brewing in my mind...and here is what I found at the PPA154  ~  my attempt was to use the Raspberry Ripple and Calypso Coral to give my truck an old rusty feel, I'm pleased with the outcome! I'm back...well, mostly back...now we need to put the house back together, but in the mean time ~ I was able to create and post ~ I found these fantastic colors at Paper Players challenge #46  ~ and enjoyed myself so much putting this together ~  ~ Here's a shot of my card along with the inside ~ This is a super quick post as I've got family coming for pizza and piano/organ moving night ~ it's called dinner with a purpose! I just loved this challenge and they both came from Stamping 411 ~ if you've never joined this challenge, you really should ~ I love playing along with this ~ So first I found the colors that I would be playing with and this was the Stamping 411 Color Inspiration #152  ~ and then the sketch at Stampin 411 Sketch #194 I knew exactly what I wanted to play with ~ so out with Forest Friends (this sketch was perfect)....incidentally....another stamp set that I had never played with...I think I'm on a roll here! ~ Here's the picture of my card ~ As I began to play with this, I thought I was really going to be able to keep my sponge away ~ but I just can't seem to do it ~ I LOVE TO SPONGE MY EDGES!!! So after I stamped my Pear Pizzazz with my Sanded Stamp ~ out with my sponge!  I put together each little frame as follows ~  Each little Forest Friend was punched out with my 1 1/4 Square Punch and then sponged (surprise!!!) ~  I then punched out a Scallop Square using C...

So last week I went to enter a challenge and realized that I was one day late ~ not sure if that happens in your world, but it is definitely a reality in mine. So when I saw the color challenge at Stacey's blog,  Curtain Call Act 7 1 & the  OCC Challenge is Distress to De-Stress, I was bound and determined to pay close attention! So with one day to spare, I'm ready to go  ~ here are the color's that Stacey was asking for ~ and the challenge at OCC was to de-stress your creation along with a sketch to follow ~  ~ and here is my card ~ Still not sure how I feel about what I created, but decided to post it anyway!
