File Folder ~ Are You Serious!

Image
I have a friend who wants to have a friend gathering, featuring a mini album...and so I went on a Pinterest hunt, and I found the sweetest little album on YouTube using File Folders! I can't wait to teach this class ~ here's a peek at what I created...now to cut my kits!!! This is the cover, I used a long time retired button for my closure and some hemp twine! The two pieces that are sticking out are little slide outs for pictures  and the back side has lines for journaling and another page there are twelve pages in all and 6 slide outs I used a sponge and Chocolate Chip to give the edges a vintage look and then I stamped using Crumb Cake and various stamps to give the pages some dimension and vintage look as well ~ I'm really pleased with the outcome, hope the girls feel the same way! Thanks so much for stopping by ~ have a wonderful day  :-)  If you live in Winnipeg or the vicinity and would like to host a party I would...

JUGS#187 & Crazy4Challenges!

Image
I'm not sure if your card stash is like mine..but when I need a 'thinking of you' or 'get well' card....well, there is none to be had! Oh dear, I guess the housework/laundry/gardening etc. will have to wait ~ 'cause I need to go create! What a fabulous early morning of creating I had! I found two fabulous challenges to use as my starting place ~ thanks all, for these wonderful challenges that you bring our way each week.  Today I played with the sketch from JUGS#187 & the color challenge from crazy4challenges ....oh do pop in on these challenges and join in the fun...there is still time to play! I really enjoyed these colours and then along with the sketch, I think it came together quite nicely! although I'm not to sure about the two different colored ribbons ~ I thought of changing it..but those polka dots on the pink ribbon!!! How could I exchange that ~ so I decided to go with it! I went with my Labels Collection Die for the centre shapes (...

Dynamic Duos #18 & FMS #50

Image
What a Dynamic Duo...literally...and I actually stamped, played, and sang in my room today, I was constantly being pulled outside to play in my garden and my knitting needles were also calling me ~ oh...but my POOR neglected stamps and toys won the day...I had a blast!!! So here is the fabulous sketch from Freshly Made that I followed...and incidentally...there is still time to play, so run and have some fun!!! And then I followed the color challenge over at Dynamic Duos ... and yes, I'm using a Red shade once again, which I seem to run from, I'm pleased with the out come of this card ~ it does look sweeter IRL ~ once I got going on this card, I realized that I actually don't own Poppy Parade Stamp Pad, so I improvised by using Ruby Red, but my CS is Poppy Parade ~ so here's my card...and I also really wanted to try Triple Time Stamping...and I LOVE this Technique! So did you notice...my En Francais is upside down!!! RMS ~ rusty mojo syndrome! ...

Is It Too Late ~ PP62 & Page Maps

Image
I guess I'll start my post with a question....is it too late to send a birthday card almost two months after someone's birthday! Do you ever do that, all of a sudden you realized you missed the day or even the month? Yikes....now what do I do...just let it continue to go by even though it's naggin' at you...or send a very belated birthday blessing...hmmmm....that is my question ~ now on to my card! The Paper Players have a great challenge this week and I can't believe that I'm playing along ~ summer is extremely busy for me with family, gardening, visiting, camping....and sadly, I don't really get a chance to play in my studio...I'm so blessed that my garden is my other happy place! Paper Players 62 is wanting a Birthday Card...how did they know what was tugging at my heart! I then followed a sketch from Page Maps ...and here is a picture of my card! ~ and the inside of the card ~ I created my butterfly using the 'baby wipe technique' ~...

Paper Players Challenge #34

Image
Do you ever buy a stamp set that you just HAVE to have, and then never do anything with it! I am famous for that...hmmm...maybe I have too many toys ~ oh, what am I saying, of course I could never have too many toys! Well, I just love this stamp set and it was so much fun playing with it today! And here's another shabby vintage card! I love playing with that style and the colors from the Paper Players challenge #34 were perfect for this set, I knew right away that I would be pulling out 'Have A Seat' from my stamp shelf! My stamps sets are all in alphabetical order on my shelves and then stamped in a catalogue, this way when my friends come over to play, they can easily find what they're looking for!  If these colors don't scream vintage...I don't know what does! So here's my card ~ ~ here's a little side shot ~  And here's the inside of the card. I created my little rosette's with a quilling tool, added some two way glue and then add...

Challenges & Challenges

Image
What a wonderful week before Christmas that we have had here at home! All of the family together, chatting about our up and coming trip, early Christmas with my parents...all the while working on a birthday card for our son...so here is the challenge from Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch Challenge 182 As soon as I saw this, I knew I would created his card with this in mind ~ and then ~ I saw the color challenge from Stacey's Stamping Stage   and the  Curtain Call Color Challenge: {ACT 61} So here is my card for our son's 29th birthday I was having real issues with saving my cropped picture, not sure why I was unable to import my edited version, so sorry for the 'bad' picture....and now this morning it worked, so I actually changed my original snap of this card! Thank you so much for stopping by during this busy season of celebration! This will more than likely be my last post of the year ~ have a wonderful and blessed Christmas Season! And all the best in the New ...

Color Throwdown #122

Image
It was so much fun joining in the challenge from  Color Throwdown  today ~ I've been so busy with Christmas prep, caring for my in-laws who have been quite ill for the past few days and just keeping up with daily needs ~ my DH was home sick today, I wasn't 100%, but well enough to play along, so this consumed my day and I had a blast! So when I grabbed my colors I couldn't believe that I don't own Pear Pizzazz in Write Marker or Stamp Pad, so I improvised the coloring of my holly leaves with Wild Wasabi ~ sure hope that's okay! My little jewellery tags were punched with Pear Pizzazz and stamped using Riding Hood Red. The ornament was stamped with Versa Mark and then embossed with Iridescent Ice EP, it looks amazing IRL, but I'm not totally pleased with the out come of the card....I feel like there's something missing ~ not sure what that is....any idea's, I'd love to hear them! Here's a quick peek of the inside of the card Thank you so muc...

Two Challenges in One ~ PPA65 & Stampin 411 SS174

Image
Who doesn't like Bling...I knew I needed to play along when I found this at  Pals Paper Art s and then found a sketch that I really wanted to create from Stampin 411 ~ so here are the two challenges that entered.   Be sure to pop by tomorrow and have a peek at a tag box that I created to hold Christmas Gift Tags ~ I'll be teaching that class in November ~ sure hope you can join in the fun! The bling on the flower, stem and leaves doesn't really show up well in this photo, but IRL it looks gorgeous and sparkles, sparkles, sparkles! I created this with an Anniversary Card in mind, but I think this would also make a stunning Wedding Card. I tried to crop my crystal rock out on the lower left side out of the picture,  but then it cut to much of the card off.  ~ enjoy your day, may you be blessed today and be a blessing to someone! Thanks for stopping by today! Stamps:  En Francais, Happy Harmony, Because I Care Paper:  Very Va...

MIA ~ I'm Back!!!

Image
What a crazy week ~ all fun, but non-stop and no time for stampin' other than grabbing a minute here and another one there. So this card took me ALL week to finish. First of all the color is a real stretch for me! When I saw the challenge on Paper Pals , I couldn't get it out of my head, I knew I needed to go for it ~ had no idea where to start so I hunted around and found this layout on Techno Stamper . So here's a snap of a week of work and I had a blast once again playing in my studio! Sure hoping to hit more challenges this week (with paper that is)! So my Versamarked "En Francais" didn't really show up, good thing though...it's upside down & I'm not sure why my corner looks bent? hmmmm....picture taking is not one of my strengths :-D  Stamps: Punch Potpourri, En Francais, Occasional Quotes  Paper: Pear Pizzaz, Melon Mambo, Peach Parfait, Whisper White, DP (non-SU)   Ink: VersaMark, Melon Mambo   Acc: Elegant Lines Embossing Fold...
