Stampin' Chez Moi

I am So excited I can hardly contain myself.....I signed up for Convention in July....first time going, I don't know what to expect (although my dear friend LeAnne has shared some valuable info...thanks LeAnne) and so here's what's happening so far! My DH and I are escaping town (a well needed vacation for both of us) ~ we are loading the RV and road tripping to Utah ~ road trips are our favourite vacation times ~ once we get to Utah, I have NO idea where to go as I don't have a room booked, don't have a roommate and don't know a soul ~ so I'm on my own! If I don't find a place to stay for convention, Dean will drive me each morning and pick me up late in the evening ~ I hope if this ends up being the outcome, that I won't feel like I missed out on Convention, but sleeping on a park bench, just doesn't sound to comfortable to me! I found this fabulous challenge at the Friday Mash Up #65....and I was definitely feeling punchy as well,    so this was just too perfect and I had to join in the fun! I really tried to challenge myself as well, by using Bright colours, this is definitely out of my comfort zone and I'm still not to sure how I feel about my card ~  I began by looking in my stash of paper...do I ever have paper....almost embarrassing already! So I looked in my discontinued files after looking at our old SU colour wheel. I knew I wanted to start with Gable Green as my main colour! and so the wheel said...Pixie Pink & Apricot Appeal...and I'm going to create using these colours....are you kidding!!! Out came my punches for the flowers, Beautiful Wings Embosslits and got to work ~ or should I say play ~ I really enjoy my time in my studio and it really has been lacking lately ~ it has been super hot and humid lately and even though we have a beautiful pool to enjoy, one can only repose ...

What a fabulous two days or R&R with my girl friend at her cottage ~ we ate when we were hungry and slept when we absolutely couldn't function any longer ~ in between these moments we power carded ~ knitted ~ chatted ~ sat on the adirondacks over looking the lake ~ went for walks ~ and just simply enjoyed our time together! I needed a card for my a sweet young lady who is being baptized on Sunday and found the perfect challenge at Paper Players . The call was for clean & simple  ~ and here is my creation ~ what fun! It was so hard to pack up my stamping supplies to take elsewhere....what to bring...how much...what colors...but we managed and had SO much fun together, just like a private retreat time ~ thank you so much my friend ~ Had A Blast! What a busy week I've had and then all of a sudden, I had a found afternoon today ~ so ~ I quickly found the challenges that I was hoping to play with and had myself some fun! I really am hungering for spring and the Paper Players Challenge #37   & PPA84 were just TOO perfect ~ I can almost smell the roses! The subtle colors at the Color Throwdown #132 just screams spring to me...and so away I went!  I knew exactly what I wanted to do, but sometimes what I see in my head isn't quite right and I end up changing everything about what I had originally planned on creating....today was a different story ~ this is pretty much exactly what I dreamed up ~ that is exciting for me and a first!
