Merry Monday #33!!!

Image
I have been wanting to join the Merry Monday Challenge on a regular basis, but life just won't seem to allow me the time....so when I do get to play along, I'm giddy like a little girl on Christmas morning ~ how fitting!!! And now that I see the sketch challenge, I realized that I forgot my bow at the top of my card...I sure hope that's okay Lesley! I really enjoy putting this together and it sparkles like crazy...although the picture doesn't do it justice at all!...I used my homemade shimmer mist using rubbing alcohol and Frost White Shimmer Paint, I misted the card and the ornaments! I also used my Dazzling Details on the ornaments on both sides, take a closer look and you'll see the sparkle...see!!!!!  These ornaments where stamped twice, used my Framelits Dies adhered my gold cord and then kissed these ornaments together! Then I got out the bling!!! Love it! And as you can see below, these ornaments are free flowing on the card! I masked the inside...

The Paper Players  # 71 challenge brought to you by the fabulous Anne Marie was so much fun! If you've never been to Anne Marie's blog....well.....you have to! So I guess I'm suggesting (strongly!!!) that you play along with this challenge and check out the other DT members (I promise, you won't be dissappointed, these girls are amazing!) This is what Anne Marie is calling out for ~ I think I can do this? I saw this one day as I was strolling through blogland and knew I wanted to recreate this altered milk carton. Another one of my many favorite blogs is Elaine's, she is so creative and I love to pop in on her, here is where I found my inspiration, and she also put together a fabulous youtube tutorial! So let's get busy..... as you can see, I can't create a gift box without a matching card  ~ and this one is just a sweet litte 3 x 3...super fun to create ~ In following the recipe, my 3 patterened papers are from the Candy Cane Christmas found in last yea...

Friday Mash Up & Freshly Made!

Image
Fall has definitely been ushered into my neighborhood ~ the trees are glorious, the air is crisp and the garden has fallen into it's winter rest....did I say winter!!! You bet, and I've been busy getting ready for my Christmas Stack Class ~ here is a peek at just one of the cards that we will be creating ~ I flipped the sketch from {Freshly Made}   and loosely followed it and my card also qualifies for the Friday Mash Up , as they called out for snowflakes!  ~ thanks girls for these wonderful challenges ~ please visit these gals and join in the fun! And the card..........I sponged just a tad around this wonderful tree found in the Christmas Lodge stamp set ~ what a beautiful set and a must have in my studio! The snowflake was created using the Northern Frost Die, sticky tape & Dazzling Diamonds....a girl can never have to many dazzling diamonds! It's really hard to tell in the photo, but I used Shimmery White CS ~ there is a very subtle misting of snowflakes across th...

Paper Players Challenge #113

Image
Finding balance is usually difficult me for ~ it means I can't ALWAYS do what I'd love to do but also what is needed. So in trying to find balance in my present world, I've had to make some very hard choices, first being my classes...I love getting together with my friends to create, but needed to cut my class time in half...and the other was the posting on my blog when I'm able to and not a daily thought and hope to get to it event! Both of these decisions effect my studio time and playing along with challenges...so today I feel SO priviledged that I got to play and my card went along with the challenge that I found at PPA113 which was to Heat Emboss. I definetley agree with the DT, heat embossing just gives everything a pop! So here is a picture of my card which was heat embossed using Dazzling Diamonds...haven't played with that for such a long time and I had a blast ~ it was so nice to create...I miss doing this daily, but....well, you know... These cuties we...

Christmas in January?

Image
Good day! After weeks of no play, I found it really difficult to get my mojo on! I think I spent more time wandering than playing! I started with a challenge from Stamping411  #184 My color inspiration came from the The Color Throwdown  #123...put my head down and got to work! So here is the card that I created....a Christmas card in January, this is definitely a first for me, I've never created a Christmas card at the beginning of the year. the little ornaments are the punch outs from the border and then I applied Crystal Effects to them, after I adhered them, I wish I had just left the banner clean...too late....that's on there! I also applied Crystal Effects to each of the ornaments on my DP. I really liked the effect, I'll definitely be keeping that in mind, just really adds a subtle punch to the card. Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope you have a great day today in whatever you do! Stamps:  Love You Much, Teeny Tiny Wishes Paper:  Always A...

Color Throwdown #122

Image
It was so much fun joining in the challenge from  Color Throwdown  today ~ I've been so busy with Christmas prep, caring for my in-laws who have been quite ill for the past few days and just keeping up with daily needs ~ my DH was home sick today, I wasn't 100%, but well enough to play along, so this consumed my day and I had a blast! So when I grabbed my colors I couldn't believe that I don't own Pear Pizzazz in Write Marker or Stamp Pad, so I improvised the coloring of my holly leaves with Wild Wasabi ~ sure hope that's okay! My little jewellery tags were punched with Pear Pizzazz and stamped using Riding Hood Red. The ornament was stamped with Versa Mark and then embossed with Iridescent Ice EP, it looks amazing IRL, but I'm not totally pleased with the out come of the card....I feel like there's something missing ~ not sure what that is....any idea's, I'd love to hear them! Here's a quick peek of the inside of the card Thank you so muc...
