Stampin' Chez Moi

It was so much fun to play in my studio yesterday ~ the house is still upside down, but I did my best to put that thought on ignore! I did have a hard time focusing and it took me all day to create an Anniversary card for my wonderful parents!   I found a great sketch at the  Inkspirations Challenge , they have wonderful challenges that you really need to check out! My colors were inspired by the  UDI Color Challenge  and they also have a wonderful blog that really deserves a visit! I don't know about you, but I find it really difficult to get my creative juices flowing after I've been out of my studio for awhile ~ and I really felt it yesterday ~ but I was determined and kept playing until I was please with the out come.  So without any further delay ~ here is my creation ~ It was a beautiful sunny day yesterday, so outside I went to take these photo's ~ and yes, it was very hard for me to be in the house on such a nice day, I love to play in my garde...

The painting is mostly done ~ the hardwoods are here and the install should begin in about a week ~ our home is a mess and I can't wait to have it back to normal ~ a new normal for us, we've always had wall to wall carpeting, and now it will be wall to wall hardwoods! Here are a few shots to show you how we've been living for the past month.  Standing in the kitchen and looking into the music room (right) and family room (left) and then north east south & west.....mess, mess, mess! No, we don't have a wasp nest in the middle of the dining room ~ just a large bag protecting the light! Looking into the music room ~ the piano & hammond organ are hiding from potential paint splatters! Looking into the family room from the kitchen And the hardwoods have arrived! WooooHooooo! My girls are the best, they just stroll in through the mess as they head downstairs to my studio ~ thank goodness for a lower level that is semi tidy and ready to go and girls...

What a fabulous time of visiting we had with Marc (our son) & Chars (his wife) ~ we flew to Vancouver last Sunday and had a blessed time with our 'kids'. We began our visit with a time of worship at their home church. Westside Church in Vancouver ~ what a wonderful church community they have become a part of! When we landed in Vancouver we were greeted by tulips, daffodils, cherry blossoms....what a grand welcome, when we left Winnipeg, they were calling for snow! Not sure if it ever happened. On our way to church ~ it was beautiful and the fragrance in the air was breathtaking ~ Here is a shot of the coffee cups that were served on Easter Sunday ~ Just a few more stunning shots from the west coast ~ Lynn Canyon Park was amazing! ~ Thanks so much for stopping by today ~ So now that we are back, the painting of the house still needs to be done, the flower gardens need to be tidied ~ my little hobby greenhouse is calling and I'm sure hoping I have time...

I can't believe that I'm posting tonight! I've got a Techniques class on Monday night, nothing was ready for this, painting is still being done ~ but I needed to create something and pronto ~ so I took little breaks along the way as the inspiration came ~ This is the emboss resist technique and I just love the outcome of my card. I found it really hard to take a picture that actually did the card justice, but alas...it wasn't to be! Another bonus was bestowed upon me as I came across this new weekly challenge blog called A La Card Monkey . The challenge this week was Nature ~ how wonderful ~  I know this is shocking ~ out came the sponges and I sponged, sponged & sponged ~ ran upstairs and did more painting, painting, painting...and so this is how my week went ~ here's my creation ~  I sure hope you enjoyed your time with me ~ if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask ~ I hope you have a wonderful day ~ Thanks for stopping by If you ...

My last post was over a week ago ~ and I have been missing out on so many challenges that I really wanted to enter ~ but alas, the house has been turned upside down, all the carpeting has been removed, furniture is beginning to be stored in our shop on our property and the paint brushes will be coated with paint and our walls & ceiling will all have a fresh new look! WOW, what a ramble that was ~ so when all this is done, I think I'll also need a fresh new look.
