Lovin' MDS...and another page!

Image
So many more pages to go...but I'm thrilled to have completed another page for Seth's book! Here is the sketch that I followed from MDS Monday ! This is actually a card sketch, but was perfect as I wanted to highlight a photo of Seth & I. I'm really enjoy playing with MDS, so much to learn though. I'm hoping to really hone this skill as I love technology and would love to have an MDS class added to my monthly schedule ~ we'll see how it goes! Here's my take on this sketch...and I coloured the world, which was another part of the challenge! This was taken in 2009 in our back yard against a large barn wall the Dean built as a feature in what we call 'the back 40'. We live on an acre and a half, so compared to the city lots, we live on a huge acreage...hence the back 40! If you live in Winnipeg or the vicinity and would like to host a party I would love to come and stamp with you and your friends!! Or, if space is an issue

My First MDS Challenge!

Image
Welcome to my very first MDS Challenge ~ a real learning curve for me and I thoroughly enjoyed my time playing along with the challenge at MDS Monday ! Pop in on them...you'll be so glad that you did! Here's the sketch that we were to follow....having never done these before, I hope I followed properly! We love camping with our kids and grandsons...this is a page showcasing a trip we took with our grandson a few years ago!  I'm hoping to finish a scrapbook for Seth for Christmas...this one is page 10...I did the other pages with my own sketches as well as some of the templates found on MDS...but when I saw this, I knew I just had to give this a go...so glad that I did...thanks for the sketch and a great starting point. Thanks so much for stopping by today, hope you enjoy this little journey with me! Have a wonderful day! If you live in Winnipeg or the vicinity and would like to host a party I would love to come and stamp with you and your friends!!

Mother's Day...and Then Happy Birthday Time!

Image
What a crazy week we've had...packed up my FIL...moved him down the hall to a one bedroom in the same building ~ but when I unpacked, I went through EVERYTHING, I purged, sorted, reboxed things for my SIL & BIL and then as I cleaned I put things away. We went over on Thursday evening and moved everything into the new suite, left a path for dad so he could get to the washroom...and then I came back at 8am on Friday morning...7pm....DONE!!! So now I'm on a roll ~ slowly stared in my craft room on Saturday evening, then after church and lunch, I went back in...today is a holiday for us, so by 8am I was back in here...5pm DONE!!! Every stone was turned over, dusted, put back or thrown away! WOW!!! Now it's tidy in here and I want to create a card for my Mother's Birthday...let's see how well I do with putting my toys away when I'm done! I do tend to explode when I create, I try not to...but just can't seem to get a handle on that. Do you explode acro

Happy Mother's Day!

I found a new challenge over at Joan's Garden ...what a great start for my mother's day cards...and yes, I've cut this one pretty close...came home from a fabulous dinner with our kids and grandsons and got my two cards completed for today! They are very similar...is that cheating for Mother's Day? So here's my Mother's Day cards ~ My vellum flower was inked up with Real Red and my faithful sponge...I love sponging! Cut my border using my Martha Steward border punch and then flipped it to create the same effect on the other side of my black CS. Boho Blossom Punch was used for the inside of my flower (oh I love the punch) ~ my fancy flourish was purchased at Joan's Garden ! I then embossed my card front using  Lacy Brocade and stamped my sentiment with Well Scripted! That covers all the requirements for this challenge ~ I really enjoyed creating these cards ~ thanks for the challenge! If you live in Winnipeg or the vicinity and would li

Friday MashUp & Challenge 222!

Image
I'm not sure about you, but I have to admit ~ I do get excited when it's a rainy day in spring...stampin' here I come! It could be that we have a large yard and large gardens, so I really don't mind the break. I ran around and got the errands done and scooted home to my studio! What a great day! I found two great challenges to play with ~ Friday MashUp & Latenight Stamper's Challenge 222 ! Friday Mash Up used this sketch and also asked us to make a set of cards ~ I did two identical ones, so I'm thinking that I actually did a Mash! Love this sketch BTW! The Latenight Stamper's Challenge was to use retiring colors, so I got to work using, River Rock, Not Quite Navy & Bravo Burgundy...gonna miss you! I also used retired stamp sets, and I'll be hangin' on to these for sure....I really struggled with this as I was creating a male card and still don't know how I feel about it ~ just toooo simple I guess, but it's a wrap regard

JUGS#187 & Crazy4Challenges!

I'm not sure if your card stash is like mine..but when I need a 'thinking of you' or 'get well' card....well, there is none to be had! Oh dear, I guess the housework/laundry/gardening etc. will have to wait ~ 'cause I need to go create! What a fabulous early morning of creating I had! I found two fabulous challenges to use as my starting place ~ thanks all, for these wonderful challenges that you bring our way each week.  Today I played with the sketch from JUGS#187 & the color challenge from crazy4challenges ....oh do pop in on these challenges and join in the fun...there is still time to play! I really enjoyed these colours and then along with the sketch, I think it came together quite nicely! although I'm not to sure about the two different colored ribbons ~ I thought of changing it..but those polka dots on the pink ribbon!!! How could I exchange that ~ so I decided to go with it! I went with my Labels Collection Die for the centre shapes (
